I’ve been a Postpartum Doula for 18 years. I work with families of singletons, twins, and even triplets. I am also a dog-loving doula that can help your “furbaby” adjust as well. My experience assisted me in many ways, and has helped me to become the confident, nurturing doula that I am today. I have been so blessed by my experiences and clients. My experience as a Postpartum Doula has taught me to provide non-intrusive, non-judgmental support according to the family’s needs and wishes. I help to educate, guide, and facilitate the family’s comfort and confidence with their new roles. “Is this normal?” is one of the most frequent questions I get asked from new moms. Whether it’s the color of poop, the amount of spit up or how many hours of sleep they get at night, and so much more, is a huge concern for new parents. As a postpartum doula, I can help you figure out if your baby is crying more than usual, or better yet, if you are crying more than usual. There’s a wide range of normal when it comes to feeding, diapering, sleeping, and soothing your baby, as well as your own healing after childbirth. As a postpartum doula, I can help you know what is and isn’t normal and help you know when it’s the right time to call in another professional. I can offer a wealth of resources from pediatricians and lactation consultants to sleep experts and alternative therapy providers.
I have also learned that women have the innate power and wisdom they need to birth and care for their children. I also believe that there is a depth of joy that can be found in mothering and fathering that cannot be found anywhere else. I believe that when a baby is born, a “mother is born too.” Every mother, baby, and family has touched my life in a way that no one else ever has.
A little bit about myself
My three children and I are transplants from the windy city. We absolutely love Oregon and all the wonderful things it has to offer. In my spare time I love to travel. Our latest adventure was Australia. It had been a dream of mine for many, many years. I also enjoy photography and love trying new cuisines.
