Hi there, I’m Kimmi Burk! I am a postpartum doula, babywearing consultant, and newborn and family photographer. I’ve had an interest in caring for babies since I was young, and as a teen I volunteered in various daycares, and nannied for multiple families. Once I moved to Portland in 2017, I started working at a local baby boutique for one of Itsabelly’s co-founders, Erica Matteson. I was pregnant at the time, and during my own pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum I learned about the incredible childbirth community, and the role that a doula plays in that community. I wanted to be a part of all of it. I became a babywearing and cloth diaper educator, facilitated support groups, provided basic lactation and feeding assistance to those who came in looking for it, and in 2018 I joined Itsabelly as a postpartum doula. Having doula support throughout childbirth and postpartum can positively influence the experience, and I want to be part of providing that for every family who wants it. I am excited to be a part of such an incredible team, because I know that each of our clients has a strong support system through Itsabelly.

Postpartum journeys come in all different shapes and sizes, and it is important to me that parents are being supported through whatever theirs may bring. I see you, and I am here for you. It is my goal to support and hold space, while empowering you, and encouraging self-care, because you are worth it!
