The early weeks with a new baby are often described as intense. What’s less visible is how much continues to change after the newborn phase. Babies grow quickly. Sleep shifts. Feeding evolves. Work routines return. Family rhythms keep rewriting themselves.
Transitional Baby Care (TBC) is ongoing, in-home support for families with babies who are growing out of the newborn stage but still need steady, knowledgeable care. It bridges early postpartum support and what comes next, offering continuity as your family finds its footing in a new chapter.
Unlike birth or postpartum doula care, Transitional Baby Care is designed for the months after the early postpartum period, when support is still needed but often harder to name.
This is care that meets you where you are now and stays with you as things change.

Transitional Baby Care is built around continuity, trust, and responsiveness. Rather than short-term visits or rotating caregivers, families are matched with a dedicated doula who becomes familiar with your home, your baby, and your evolving needs over time.
Transitional Baby Care may include:
Infant care and feeding support as your baby grows
Developmentally appropriate care and guidance
Support with daily routines and household transitions
Emotional support and practical education for parents
Light child-related household tasks (bottles, pump parts, tidying baby spaces)
Occasional sibling support during scheduled hours
Optional date-night or babysitting support by arrangement
This care is intentionally flexible. What support looks like at four months may be different at eight or twelve. Your doula adapts alongside your family, offering consistency as needs shift.
Families often begin Transitional Baby Care anywhere from a few months postpartum through the first year and beyond, depending on their needs.
TBC is not a moment. It’s a through-line.
Transitional Baby Care is a good fit for families who:
If your baby is still in the early newborn months, our Postpartum Doula services may be a better place to begin. Those services are designed specifically to support families with babies under four months of age.
This service is non-medical and does not replace clinical care. It is supportive, practical care focused on the well-being of the whole family.

Transitional Baby Care is designed for the months following early postpartum, most often beginning between four and six months of age. Care is offered in six-month commitments and continues through approximately eighteen months, providing steady support as your family settles into new rhythms.
Care includes:
This structure allows for reliability, trust, and meaningful connection without the pressure of week-to-week uncertainty. While the structure is steady, the care itself remains flexible and responsive, evolving as your baby and family do.
