Vanessa - Birth & Postpartum Doula

 Hi! I am a wife and mom to two boys. I love playing board games, reading rom-coms, and having 30-second dance parties.

Before becoming a doula, my partner and I were foster parents to children with medical complexities. There were a lot of highs and a lot of lows. I learned the value of a good support system. For years, our home had a constant flow of certifiers, caseworkers, attorneys, and a wide variety of therapists.

During our time as foster parents, we cared for children - 3 days old through to supporting and caring for a pregnant teen. I heavily attribute these experiences to shaping me into the caregiver and provider I am today.

My time working primarily with people who communicated in ways other than spoken word taught me the importance of reading a room, paying attention to subtle changes, and anticipating needs. And my years of being a medical mom taught me to stay calm and collected when the unexpected happens, to advocate for the needs and wants of others, and the importance of having a plan, while also going with the flow. 

As a doula, my role is to authentically provide personalized physical, informational, and emotional support throughout your pregnancy, birth, and/or postpartum experience.
